For quite some time I have been getting asked about how to get started with blockchain. what the technology entails and if non-technical people can also join the workforce of this cutting-edge technology.

Your mission and vision should be clear enough as to why you want to get into blockchain or the Web3 . You can not provide a solution to a problem you have no idea about.

How to choose a path

The Blockchain field is vast your path might not be linear because the technology is evolving rapidly. There are also several blockchain networks, protocols offering different solutions to numerous problems in the current financial, Government, Supply chain, media, and Health sectors.

As a developer, If your major interest is solution provision at the business level it's best to opt for enterprise (Permissioned) blockchain development. You can start to work on projects under the Hyperledger umbrella (Fabric and Sawtooth).

Are you enthusiastic about cryptocurrencies and the current trends on the web such as NFTs , DeFi and DAO ?, then the Ethereum Virtual machine (EVM) related blockchain networks are the right places to get started on your journey to Web3/Blockchain.

I started with Hyperledger sawtooth due to project research I was working on later on began working On the Ethereum blockchain.

For developers you can easily cross the bridge from web2 development to web3 by reading through various blockchain whitepapers and documentation, That is what I did when I first got into blockchain. You can choose to work as a frontend engineer, smart contract (Solidity / Hyperledger) engineer, and Security engineer.
